Make Feeders

Nut or seed butter (i.e., peanut, almond, or sunflower)
Native birdseed mix (avoid invasive seeds)
Locally foraged pinecones or other natural vessels (e.g., corncobs, small logs)
Butter knives or tongue depressors for spreading
Bowls for seeds
Pie tins, pans or plates to hold and catch the birdseed when applying
Natural twine or string
Scissors
Brown lunch bags
Optional: Bird ID app

Week 10

Earthcare Activity

Final Party

Plan an informal party for Week 10.
1. Invite all the neighbors who joined you to feed the birds.
2. Make it a potluck. Use the Volunteer Roles sheet to organize it.
3. Ask each person to say their name, which home they live in, and an interesting encounter they’ve had with a bird or another animal.
4. Thank your neighbors for helping care for God’s Earth.
5. Offer a small token of appreciation, such as a handwritten card or a bookmark.
6. Let them know that they’re invited the next time you do another Earthcare Activity .
